To maintain the independence of the accreditation program and to assure that the audit of a laboratory’s qualifications is unbiased, NAIL retains a qualified independent firm to conduct the Accreditation.
The criteria used to assess the laboratories is based upon accepted standards developed by ASTM, ANSI, and other applicable standard organizations.
“The NAIL Laboratory Accreditation Program Criteria”
The criteria cover basic operational areas including the laboratory facility, equipment, training and knowledge of staff, quality control work procedures, adequacy of management, and financial responsibility.
Fees charged for accreditation are adequate to cover the expenses commensurate with the cost to perform the accreditation surveys. Note: Membership in NAIL is not required to be an accredited lab.
